This policy explains what Leaned Out LLC ("Leaned Out", "we") collects through this website, Race Management, Live RC Overlays and our racer pages, and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • From website forms: your name, email address, phone number and event information when you submit a form on our website.
  • From racers: your name, phone number, classes, transponder numbers, seeding and waiver answers, whether you are a member, how you paid the track, and any notes the track adds.
  • From race day: heats, lap times, results, practice runs and points, which come from the track's LiveTime.
  • From tracks and staff: track details, logos, staff sign-ins, the scoring PC's ID and version, its settings, and its LiveTime backups if that is switched on.
  • When you buy something: your order and delivery details. Card details are handled by the payment company, and we do not see or keep them.
  • When you visit: this website uses cookies for things like your cart and visitor statistics. Our boards keep your sign-in on the device for a day.

How we use it

Information collected may be used to respond to inquiries, provide services, send updates regarding events, and communicate regarding products or services. That includes running a race: entering you, sending your receipt and heats, showing start times and posting results.

What is public

Racers' names, classes, heats, lap times, results and points appear on public race lists, racer pages at race.leanedout.net, TV boards and live streams. Phone numbers are never shown on a board or a public page.

Who sees your information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information except as required by law or necessary to provide our services. That means:

  • The track you enter sees your entry. Its race director does not see what you paid.
  • Companies that run parts of our services for us: Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), Twilio (text messages), Squarespace (this website and shop), Stripe and PayPal (payments), and our merch printer.

SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Text messages

If you provide your phone number, you may receive SMS messages related to event updates, race information, customer service, scheduling, and order notifications. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance. SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

  • While a track subscribes, we keep its data so it can run its races. Results and practice stay on the racer pages for a year.
  • When a track's subscription ends, we keep its data for 30 days and then delete it, unless the track pays to suspend its account. We then keep it for as long as the suspended account is paid.
  • We keep a scoring PC's last eight LiveTime backups.
  • We keep messages from our website forms for as long as we need them to deal with what you asked.

Racers under 18

Many racers are minors. A parent or guardian should enter a racer under 18 and give their own phone number for texts. If you think we hold a child's information without a parent's permission, tell us and we will remove it.

Your choices

  • Correct your own entry from the link in your receipt.
  • Reply STOP to any text to stop them.
  • Email us to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. A track may need to keep its own race records.

Keeping it safe

We use sign-ins, separate board passwords and hosted services to protect your information, and we cannot read staff passwords. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that nothing will ever go wrong.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
